A Good Brand Protection Tool
Brand protection, especially in the world of pay per click affiliate marketing, is big business. Companies do not want to be losing out on their brand orientated traffic by having experienced search engine optimisers and affiliate marketers optimise their own sites for the brand. This is in effect, stealing potential traffic from the brand owner and as a result, companies often take brand protection extremely seriously.
The Google AdWords market (sponsored results) is awash with affiliate marketers virtually pretending to be someone else with a view of stealing traffic for their own means. In some cases, they even sell this traffic back to the trademark / brand owner! This is something that the trademark owners take extremely seriously indeed and often arm themselves with a brand protection tool which can pin point and report on offenders within the search engine results pages.
Almost all companies who offer affiliate marketing programs do not allow their affiliates the use of their brand or trademark names in their advertisements but alas, some do not stick to these results and as a result put their affiliate marketing account and all of their online earnings to date from the advertiser at risk.
